In a renovated riad just off Palais Dar Moulay Driss in the medina, visitors pass through an unassuming entry and into a grand design space outfitted in formal indoor dining room with intricate wood beam ceiling, period stained glass windows and resorted Moroccan floors. In the center of the riad is the more coveted seat in the house, along a series of tables that surround the central fountain and offers more of an outdoor feel under a Marrakech sky.
The Food
Two separate menus include innovative Moroccan specialties and unique Italian menu that duals only L’Italien at La Mamounia in terms of gourmet quality. Available for lunch and dinner, the Moroccan menu offers selection of traditional salads that crowd the table before ensuing slow-roast pork shoulder, lamb tanjine or saffron chicken. The Italian menu yields tuna or veal carpaccio followed by parppardelle Verdi with four cheeses; squid ink risotto and selection of fillet of sea bass.
